CEDAR 1 (Very listenable recording, with a warm, enthusiastic crowd. Maybe a little boomy and vocally distant compared to recent recordings.) I also have another version which sounds very similar but has different disc timings. Another version - (68min+27min - D2 starts with SITD), alternate version 'a', sound quality is probably between bw and bd version but this one does not have the wind noise; excellent sound. April 19, 2003 - Austin, Texas - 2 CDs [top] Disc 1 - Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum, Tell Me That it Isn't True, Highway 61 Revisited, Saving Grace, Things Have Changed, Just Like a Woman, Drifter's Escape, One Too Many Mornings, High Water (For Charley Patton)Disc 2 - Lay Lady Lay, Bye And Bye, Honest With Me, Standing in the Doorway, Summer Days, Like a Rolling Stone, All Along the Watchtower Have artwork. CEDAR 1 (At the beginning of "Bye and Bye," a subdued male voice says, "And you're the best thing that I've ever seen." Very good, warm recording, with unobtrusive crowd and clear instruments (though separation could be better). Many problems resulted in the early distribution of this recording from conflicting sample rates, and so different copies will show different problems. Small problems that seem unrelated to the sample rate issue include: small skip at d1 t1 2:58; pop at d1 t9 3:05; pop at d2 t6 7:00; and small pops between most tracks on d2. Slight distortion has been reported as well. Apparently this recording is sometimes called "First Night in the Backyard.") CEDAR 1 (Male voice, very near the taper, says "Yahoo" immediately after Al Santos's intro, and immediately after Bob sings, "Throw my ticket out the window" in "Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You." Quite good sound throughout.) Static has been reported from multiple sources on at d1 t9 0:52 and d2 t3 0:49 -- are these on the master?) I'm trying to listen -- I didn't pay money to see you." Minidisc recording, with very good sound on the whole.) Called one of the best sounding recordings of the tour. A tiny bit boomy with generally unobtrusive crowd. Overall an A-.)
